The History of Community Bank & Trust

Community Bank was founded by a group of individuals in Muscatine in 1980. These individuals saw a need for an alternative banking organization founded on exceptional customer service. In 1983, an association was formed with Peoples National Bank in Columbus Junction. Several years later, the two banks merged under the Community Bank name.

Ownership of the Bank is part of a holding company organization: C-B-G, Inc., which also owned the Wilton Savings Bank. At the close of business on December 31, 2005, Wilton Savings Bank was merged into Community Bank. On October 20, 2008, Community Bank completed the purchase of a branch office location in Wapello, Iowa.

Community Bank & Trust is located at 2609 2nd Avenue in Muscatine, Iowa, with branch offices located at 229 Main Street, Columbus Junction, Iowa; 615 Cedar Street, Muscatine, Iowa; 210 West 4th Street, Wilton, Iowa and 206 Highway 61 North, Wapello, Iowa.
